It was closing night for Next Thing You Know, a show about four twenty somethings in New York trying to figure out their lives. It was a fantastic performance all around. Morgan Glynn Briggs, Taylor Okey, Jameson Wentworth, and Aimee Erickson all did excellent jobs drawing us into their characters’ struggles. The audience felt the agony as the main character tried to decide between pursuing her dream as an actress or taking a full time job at a law firm.
The music was also fantastic. A guitarist, cellist, violinist, and the keyboard player (Musical Director – Michael Evans) supported the cast as they sang their hearts out. There were a few times that the actors interacted briefly with the band for a couple good laughs. The whole show was an excellent mix of humor and drama.
While you can’t catch this show anymore, you can see their upcoming performances. Catch Taylor Okey next in Hair at Big Noise Theatre (http://www.bignoise.org/hair.html) and the Refuge Theatre’s next project, Glory Days (http://www.refugetheatre.com/#!upnext/cb3i).
