Naperville’s Ribfest has always been a favorite for family, friends, food, games, and music. Every year the festival supports more than a dozen charities to help put an end to domestic violence. So you can feel good about stuffing your face with ribs, beer, and deep-fried chocolate-covered bacon (yes that’s a thing, and yes it’s delicious).
On Sunday, The Band Perry headlined for the final day of Ribfest. The Band Perry is a country band made up of siblings Kimberly Perry (lead vocals, guitar), Reid Perry (bass guitar, vocals), and Neil Perry (mandolin, vocals, drums). They put their heart and soul into their performance on Sunday. Every inch of their bodies were drenched in sweat as they gave everything they’ve got for their Ribfest audience. Kimberly proves the bands dedication and love for songwriting and performing, as she explains the meaning behind their album between sets. The band played favorites from their self titled album and their most recent album “Pioneer”. All three members were very interactive with the audience, the crowd was singing, dancing, and clapping along with them all night. At the end of the night, they came back for an encore and played their number one country hit, “If I Die Young”. I could go on and on about how great this band is live, but you should really see it for yourself! The Band Perry will be back in Illinois in New Lenox on August 30th.
