Jazzy Improv: True Chicago at The Beat Lounge of Second City (March 8, 2016)

Can jazz and comedy work together? In the world of improv, they fit together quite naturally. The band (bass and guitar) starts to play a song and then four improvisers play out a scene that matches the music. Sometimes the scene is completely silent and other times there is dialog. The best part of the night is when the bassist tells the story of Rindercella with the actors playing it out. It’s the tale of Cinderella with a bunch of letters switched around to great comedic effect. “Rindercella is upstairs shaking a tit!” He had to stop telling the story for a moment while the whole crowd laughs.

Catch True Chicago at Second City every Tuesday night in March from 10:15pm to 11:00pm.
